Quick Return pistons allow the shock to return to its static ride height at a much faster rate than any other stock pistons. Hot Racing Patent Pending Quick Return shock pistons act as one way valve that work instantaneously as the direction of the flow of oil through the piston changes
All shocks, even piggy-back type shocks the spring is the only means that returns the shock to normal, static height. Up until the invention of Quick Return Shock Pistons, shock set-up has always been a compromise. If you set-up your shock for the big jumps, it usually wouldn't handle the small one or the other way around. This is due to all shock pistons have the same dampening on both the compression cycle as well as the Extension cycle.
With, Hot Racing Quick Return shock there is no compromise! Quick Return pistons allow normal dampening during the compression of the shock and increased oil flow on the Extension cycle for a quicker return. This allows the suspension to stay planted and not over-compress or bounce
